The case has once again been adjourned by consent due to delays in reporting, this time until December 14th, 2017. Further updates once we have some progress in the case.
The case returned to court on 3 August 2017 but there was not much that happened officially, despite the 20 odd minutes in front of the Judge. What we learned among other things however, was that we are but a voice in the wilderness in this battle between the hawks.
So what happened, and what did we learn?

After the March Review, not much changed except the date for the experts to meet, but that was largely a procedural motion with all parties agreed on the new date of April 11th.

With the Courts joining most of Australia for a well earned rest of January, not much has happened until about 3 weeks ago when the Sunshine Coast Council advised all parties to the appeal of their Consolidated Reasons For Refusal. And what a change it is compared to the the original decision out of the planning department!

Following on from earlier news of the proposal by the State to allocate KRA status to the proposed site on Eudlo Flats, we would like to advise that much has happened over the holiday break.
Firstly, our local MP Steve Dickson felt it necessary to quit the LNP over this (and other) issues, as he rightly sees this action by the State as interfering with due process while the legal appeal is before the Court.

As part of our action to prevent 105Ha of our landscape from being transformed in to a giant sand pit with much of the spoil washing down in to our river system via protected wetlands in the event of flooding each year, not to mention the implications to both scenic and acoustic amenity the industrial processing would create for residents and tourists alike, we’ve petitioned the State Government to consider the site for an alternative use that will transform the property in to an educational nature reserve for all to enjoy
Could I please ask that this petition be shared around Queensland in the hope we can reach the required 10,000 signatories by Feb 24th.
